Would you like to make things larger on your screen? Check out this awesome feature in iOS 8. It is like having a magnifying glass right on your screen! In the video, Luis Perez shows how it works and takes you through many the features and options for zooming in on your iPhone.
Note: Accessibility features are very useful, but they can be a bit of a pain to turn off… so be familiar with the features before you begin. If you get stuck, you may need to seek help from Apple. Consider setting the home button shortcut option mentioned below to toggle these features.
Steps to enable this “magnifying glass” are as follows:
- Open the Settings App.
- Tap “General,” “Accessibility” and “Zoom”
- Tap “Zoom Region” and press “Window zoom”
- Turn Zoom “ON”
- Tap double-tap the screen with three fingers to turn it on or off.
Touch and move the small square under the magnifier box to move the zoomed area around the screen.
You can also enable zooming with the home button. In Accessibility, there is the option to set the “Accessibility Shortcut” to Zoom. With this option set, you will see the zoom window any time you tap the home button three times.
